Halfway through 2010 and beyond!
We can hardly catch up to ourselves here at Casa Nova Studios, we seem to have so many quickly developing projects that we keep forgetting to tell you about them! So here’s an update on what we’ve been up to:
We just hours ago finished another mix for Lapdance Academy artist Alex Walker, which will be released Tuesday and be available for free download and also have mix stems so you can do your own remixes! Mr. Walker continues to dazzle us with his ability to bend genres to do his bidding, and we look forward to more releases from this multi-talented composer.
We’ve just completed an EP for NY based rock/pop band Sweet Fix, 3 tunes done at our new space inside Lovescool Studio. They just played a successful show at Highline Ballroom for their last week, marking the release of the EP entitled “Sparks in the Dark”.

We’ve also been hard at work scoring for Director Zach Gold, continuing with his series of fashion films. We recently completed the score for a video collaboration between Gold, NYC fashionistas Nom de Guerre, and Converse. Here is the trailer, we’ll post the full video when its released
At this moment, we’re in the midst of composing a score for Puma in China, again in conjunction with Zach Gold. We’re drawing inspirations from old Looney Tunes scores and doing some rather strange treatments to the final mix. More on this soon!
Last, but not least, Tommy has been composing a number of tunes with The Dirty Pearls and recording a series of demos at Casa Nova Studios. These demos have been undergoing scrutiny from one of the best set of ears in the biz, multi-Grammy winning producer David Kahne (Paul McCartney, The Strokes, Sublime, and many many more). He has signed on to produce the debut album of The Dirty Pearls, and truly, we couldn’t be happier. Mr. Kahne is one of the most diverse producers in the game, and his preliminary work with the Pearls has already brought everything to another level. We’re looking forward to spending some time in the studio with him to bring this album to life…and that studio would be the legendary Avatar Studios, quite literally one of the best sounding studios in the world. For a little history on this legendary studio, read this!
In the near future, we’re going to be doing an update on the development of our new space, and many other developments we have going on. To say its been an exciting year so far is an understatement!
That is all for now. Believe it or not Nick and I have been composing the whole time this was being written! Then we’re going to take it and print it on to this, for extra added crap factor. This Sony reel to reel tape machine was given to me by my 1st choir teacher, Joan Offt. She’s one of the biggest reasons I make so much music today. Thanks :)
